Don't worry you will have about fifty years to do that.
They will reward you if you give them lots of attention. They also love
suitable toys to chew and pull apart.
Do you know anything of her history? Depending on how well she was
bonded to her former keeper she may take a little while to accept you
as her companion. I hope you can give her plenty on out of cage time.
My Misty is only in his if I have to go out or go to bed. If your home
is suitable she will be happier if she is allowed to fly. Many owners
clip their wings but I hate doing that. A poorly clipped parrot is
likely to injure itself with clumsy landings. Even a properly clipped
parrot may still fly well enough to fly off but it won't be able to
handle hazzards very well. She may accept a harness for outside travel.
Never use a leg tether. Remember the parrot is a prey animal in the
wild so if she is startled her instinct will by to try to fly off. With
a leg tether she could break her leg.
How does she behave with you? Does she talk at all? If she does you
will discover that Greys are more than simple mimics. They are good at
labeling objects and events.
It is important that she has the correct diet and you must learn what
foods are poisonous for parrots.
Chocolate and advocados are very bad for instance.
Avoid using any kind of aerosol sprays like pest killers and polishes
any where near her.

have, reading online on Christmas.I guess you don't have any real
friends or family, not surprised by that.Quit being such a nerd and
maybe people will want to hang out with you dude.

Powder Problem - I have had my little guy, Ozzie Ozbird, since he was only 6 months old. He is now over 2 1/2 years old. My question is the powder he emits. Are there ways of controling it by diet or any other tips? Hopefully, I won't have to buy that $500 Sharper...

CAG for Sale in N. VA area -

Too much dander...... - I have several problems with my African Grey: 1. Her dander gets all over the house. Is there any way to reduce the amount of dander she has - or to get rid of it before it proagates throughout the house? 2. She has eaten all her red tail feathers..

To: Adreeana - How did you get your parrot to stop squeaking? Thanks.......
